Pizzastock Battle of the Bands 2024

The Jason R Flood Memorial/ Pizzastock returns to the Tupelo Music Hall for our 6th annual Battle of the Bands. After last year's incredibly successful Battle of the Champions show we have decided to hit the reset button and change things up….a little. You will still recognize the show but we have added a few new fresh twists.
The JRFM continues to work with our communities youth and social organizations to create a feeling of belonging. Catch phrases like “you are not alone” , “stop the stigma”, and “it takes a village” are more than just words to us, they are our passion.
To date the JRFM has raised over $100k for local organizations like The Upper Room, Sonshine Soup Kitchen, The Boys & Girls Club of Derry, End 68 Hours of Hunger, The Derry Friendship Center, Connor’s Climb, and Reach1, Teach1, Love1. All through our Pizzastock events, like this one.
This Years Competing Bands (in their own words)
Porcelain Jumpsuit hails from Newton NH, where they’re turning up the volume and making waves. Angus Hanisco rocks the vocals and guitar, backed by Jacob Corbin on bass, Joe Borgesi on drums, and Joe “BJ” Medina on guitar. They are all about the music, with a mix of rock, alternative, grunge, and some old school vibes thrown in for good measure. These guys have been jamming together since late 2022 and just released their EP of originals that will have you hooked!
Tree Streets is just some guys and a girl being crazy playing punk rock in the jazz room of Central High School. The Manchester based band is made up of Patrick DeFelice on lead vocals and guitar, Stella Witt on backup vocals and guitar, Eli Crichton on the bass, and Jonah Therrien on drums. They like to be loud and cause pandemonium. Moms love them. Babies love them. My uncle’s wife thinks they rock hard. When they inevitably “sell out” they are planning to tour the country in their hypothetical orange VW bus, creatively dubbed Firecrotch!
Glue is a local rock band of Pinkerton students based in Derry NH. We started the band in the summer of 2022 and haven’t looked back. In the band we have Elise Collins and Gaby McSweeney on vocals and horns, Connor MacDonald on Keyboard, James MacDonald and Declan Collins on guitar and vocals, and Jonas Welch on drums. We want to thank everyone who have been packing restaurants and bars supporting us and we are excited to see you in 2024.
House Band and Hosts
Sotah - Rising from the ashes of the darkest period of his life, vocalist/ guitarist Casey Daron formed the scorching and dapper- dressed ska-punk outfit Sotah as a form of healing and self-expression in the summer of 2021. Joined by his brother Killian Daron on bass and longtime friend Johnny Deschamps on drums. Sotah furiously began writing songs and playing shows in some of New England’s most esteemed venues. Dubbing their sound as “Sad Ska for Sad Sacks”, Sotah has opened up for such acts as Murphy’s Law, Grade2, Sponge, Hans Gruber and the Die Hards, and countless other regional bands from New England. Check out their debut EP “Love/Hate” on all streaming platforms and also available on disc.
Cozy Throne was last year's “Pizzstock 6.5 Battle of the Champions” winners and winners of “Pizzastock Battle of the Bands 4.5” in 2021. They are returning to the Tupelo stage as the hosts this time around. They have since been playing to full houses in some of the biggest venues in the region including multiple gigs at the iconic Bill’s Bar on Lansdowne Street in Boston, Bank of NH Stage, many local festivals, countless UNH campus parties, and bars/ restaurants all over NH and MA. Their debut EP “I’ll Tell You What Freedom Is” has over 20k streams on Spotify. They have multiple new singles out on all streaming platforms as we wait for their first full length album to be released soon.
