Two Great Singers Together on One Stage
Jeffrey Gaines and Jann Klose are singing and playing along together on each other's songs and eclectic favorites on this special night. A songwriters in the round--two friends with great voices, who make great music separately...and now together.
Born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey's musical interest was sparked at a young age, owing largely in part to his parents' collection of soul records. But, it was his discovery of Ziggy Stardust-era David Bowie that truly sealed his fate, led to his participation in local bands. After high school Jeffrey with Chrysalis Records, releasing "Hero In Me," which was featured on MTV. His cover of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" took #22 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart. The Boston Globe declares that Jeffrey's "soulful, wounded vocals make a case for his being one of pop's finest singers." Jeffrey's latest album is LIVE IN EUROPE was released in 2012, and recorded during his 25-city tour with Joe Jackson. Look for a new album this year.
Born in Germany, raised in Kenya, South Africa, and Germany, Jann Klose first came to the States as an exchange student in Cleveland. Now based in the Bronx, his new album is called MOSAIC. He's co-writing songs and performing with Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley), and has shared the stage with Gary Hoey, Renaissance's Annie Haslam, Rusted Root, Vonda Shepard, Pete Seeger, and the late Les Paul. Jann is a featured vocalist and guitarist in GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Film/Focus World). His music is heard on the GRAMMY nominated "Healthy Food For Thought" compilation, MTV CRIBS and movies, "Dead Broke" (Warner Bros.) featuring Paul Sorvino. The Washington Post says, “Klose wins over the listener with his soaring voice, which may well be a staple of chamber pop for a long time to come.”
