9th Annual Bob Dylan Birthday Bash to Support the Brad Delp Foundation
Join us for the 9th Annual Dylan Birthday Bash to support the Brad Delp Foundation! Every year Tupelo’s stage is taken over by some of the area’s best musicians to raise money for The Brad Delp Foundation. This year’s lineup includes fan favorites Bob Jennings and Julie Foster, The Mockers, featuring Fools members Stacey Pedrick and Eric Adamson, and New Hampshire rockers The Boneshakerz. The Burning Sensations will also be returning with Fool Rich Bartlett, Beatle Juice members Buddy Bernard, Steve Baker, and Joe Holaday, and Holaday’s offspring, PJ and Jared on drums and sax. And as always, a few special surprise guests are sure to show up!
Fifty years ago, the charts were topped with an eclectic mix of ballads, pop, R&B, and rock. With songs by The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, Dion, and Tom Jones the music of 1968 was the backdrop of a year of revolution, protest, calls for action, victories and tragedies. Half a century later the songs of ’68 still ring true. Songs like ‘Revolution’, ‘People Got to Be Free’, and Aretha’s anthem ‘Think’ still resonate as people continue to march on Washington. Join us as we celebrate the songs of 1968: The Soundtrack of a Changing World.
The evening also includes a silent auction and raffle with all proceeds going to The Brad Delp Foundation. The BDF works to promote music education and music therapy for children and adults with disabilities. Over the years, The BDF has given grants to many area schools and organizations including support for the Manchester Community Music School’s Music Therapy program and funding to help create a comprehensive music curriculum for the Mount Zion Christian School.
